How My Last Two Articles Connect with Martin Hofmannâs Ideas
Over the last days I shared two posts:
âĄď¸ âIs Your Software Getting in Your Way? Youâre Not Alone.â
âĄď¸ âMark Cuban says âSoftware is dead.â What does he mean?â
â¨Both came from the same pain: software that doesnât integrate ends up controlling how we work instead of supporting it.
Right after posting them, I picked up “The Agentic Enterprise” by Martin Hofmann â and realized he puts a very precise finger on the same problem.
One sentence in particular stuck with me:
đ âInstead of asking what [a] system can do, it asks what outcome we need.â
Thatâs exactly where so many SMEs (including mine) go wrong.
âĄď¸ We buy tools for their features, then spend years working around them. The software quietly dictates our processes. Automation stalls.
AI remains a slide, not a reality.
âĄď¸ Cuban calls time on this old model (âsoftware is deadâ).
âĄď¸ Hofmann shows what might replace it: outcomeâdriven, integrated, agentic ways of working.
Over the next posts Iâd like to explore this shift step by step â and what it means for smaller companies who just want their systems to finally work together.
