I will teach you two techniques for maintaining an engaging conversation with your target.

Both require attentive listening!

These are potential topics that your target mentions during a conversation. You can use one to take the conversation into a new and interesting direction.

You are talking about a film, and he/she mentions that he/she really liked a certain actor or the film soundtrack

So, you can now switch the conversation to a discussion about that actor or the soundtrack (“what about the soundtrack really appeals to you?”)

This is the verbal version of “mirroring”. When your target employs certain words that seem to have meaning to him/her, you repeat them exactly and in the same order that he/she speaks them.

The target’s subconscious reaction is something like…

“He/she understands me!”
