For SMEs, an “agentic” approach means:
💠first clarify what a process is supposed to achieve,
💠then sketch how the work needs to flow,
💠and only then pick tools that support that flow.
Hofmann puts it like this:
“Integration is no longer about connecting systems. It’s about connecting intelligence.”
SMEs actually have an advantage here: a less complex organization, fewer layers, faster decisions. What’s often missing isn’t willingness, but awareness – of modern tools, of automation options, and of how to structure workflows in the first place.
